A warm welcome to all new students and parents joining the NCC community this term. We were delighted to see so many of you at our Parent Welcome Events, and our Freshers’ Fairs were buzzing with energy, connections and excitement. This month, we’ve already had some big moments to celebrate, from the Skills England CEO visiting NCC to discuss future jobs and skills, to NCC becoming part of a national evidence partnership for the 16-19 sector, ensuring young people get the very best opportunities. We also welcomed a senior representative from the Department for Education, who was particularly impressed with our tutorial and enrichment programme. And we’re proud of our Accounting students reaching the national finals of WorldSkills UK 2025, showcasing their talent on a national stage.

New City College hosted Tessa Griffiths CBE, Joint CEO of Skills England, along with senior leaders from across government, to explore deeper collaboration on bridging skills gaps and shaping tomorrow’s jobs. We showcased our cutting-edge green skills labs and digital suites.
From Classroom to Careers: NCC Students Empowered Through Mentoring
Through our Local Village Network mentoring scheme, nearly 200 students have joined forces with industry professionals to sharpen their communication, confidence and career vision. 92% reported a clearer understanding of career paths, and 86% felt more motivated.

Tommy’s Turning A Level Ambition Into Real-Life Legal Experience
Tommy, now studying A Levels in Law, History and Sociology at NCC, landed a highly competitive work placement at Birkett’s law firm through the SMILE programme. Out of nearly 100 applicants, just 17 students from across London and the Southeast were chosen, and Tommy says the experience confirmed his goal to train as a solicitor.
Josiah has soared since joining NCC on our London Lions Sport pathway, recently securing the slam dunk title at Hoopsfix All-Star Classic and earning a fully funded basketball scholarship in the U.S.
Jelena was a campus award winner while studying the BTEC Level 3 Computing course at Tower Hamlets campus. She has now left college and is working as a Network Engineer on a Level 4 apprenticeship.
