AoC SEND
Football Festival
2 December 2025
We’ll be welcoming teams from Barking & Dagenham and Newham to our Havering Sixth Form Campus for this regional five-a-side SEND football qualifier. The winning team will be presented with medals and will go through to the AoC National Championships in Nottingham in April. New City College Sport students will be acting as referees for the matches.
Applications for adult courses starting in January 2026 are now open. Following successful application you will be invited to enrol. Go along to our Hackney, Ardleigh Green and Epping Forest campuses on Tuesday 9 December, 4 pm – 7 pm and to our Tower Hamlets or Redbridge campus on Thursday 11 December, 4 pm – 7 pm to secure your place.
Proud family members, lecturers and guests came together at New City College for an inspiring Higher Education Graduation Ceremony – marking a major milestone in the academic journeys of this year’s graduates. The evening was held at Redbridge Campus and recognised the achievements of students who have completed a wide range of Higher Education degrees and qualifications.

Apprentices travel to No. 10 Downing Street to quiz Prime Minister Keir Starmer
New City College apprentices had the rare opportunity to question Keir Starmer on apprenticeships, skills and work opportunities during an exclusive session at Downing Street, followed by a tour inside Number 10. The group was invited for an informal Q&A in response to the recent government Youth Guarantee - a policy designed to ensure every young person has access to training, education or work.
New City College announced as sustainability finalist in the UK-wide Beacon Awards
New City College has been announced as a Finalist in the prestigious Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Awards 2025/26, recognised for its outstanding commitment to sustainability and climate action.
The college won through preliminary rounds against other colleges to reach the final three. Assessors will visit the three finalists in December to decide who will be crowned the winner.

New City College has teamed up with Kenson Highways to launch a new Street Works Operative course at its Rainham Construction and Engineering Campus – giving adults the chance to gain practical, employer-led training and move into skilled jobs maintaining London’s highways. Creative Media student Ethan blogs on his two-day bootcamp working on a professional film set
Ethan was part of a group of Creative Media students who were given an exciting taste of life on a professional film set during a two-day industry bootcamp at Eastbrook Studios. Josh is a former A Level Dance and BTEC Performing Arts student at Havering Sixth Form. After leaving college he studied at the Laine Theatre Arts School and then went on to tour the UK with the world-renowned Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance show. He is now starring as Peter Pan in panto in Grays, Thurrock.
